Maoyuu Maou Yuusha – 04

With Yuusha still away in the demon world, Maou continues her mission of bringing a swift end to the war. She meets with two merchants from the Alliance and proposes a new business venture based around a little known crop, corn. In return, she asks that the merchants facilitate her dream of ending the war. Negotiations are rocky at first, but Maou convincingly wins the merchants over with her charm and passion, so much so that one of them ends up proposing to her.

At night, it’s revealed that Yuusha sometimes returns to the house secretly when the head maid discovers him hiding inside of a bench. She asks him why he’s choosing to avoid Maou. The two share a heart to heart, and Yuusha’s feelings of unease are somewhat lessened by the maid’s guiding words.

We all know this was the REAL reason why Yuusha hasn’t been spending time with Maou.

Sigh… nothing much of anything really happened this episode. Maou once again spends her time spreading her knowledge of new crops to the masses, and Yuusha is still nowhere to be found. I don’t really get why he is so determined to avoid Maou. From what I can gather, it seems that it has to do with the fact that he wants to be useful to Maou, but his only skill is fighting. So he goes off and does his thing in the demon world, avoiding her all the while because he doesn’t want her to get to attached to him. The reasoning behind this being that he could die at any moment, and he doesn’t want her to be sad… LOL.

It’s not that I don’t understand his thought process, its just that I don’t think he’s going about it in the right way. Really, all he’s doing right now is just hurting Maou by pushing her away, despite his original intent of protecting her.

What a hypocrite.

Luckily, we have the no nonsense head maid to slap some sense into that pea-sized brain of his.
