Kamisama no Inai Nichiyoubi – 02

Thoughts:

Well now I’m all in for this show… and it’s more than just because Ai-chan is soups kyawaii. I’m actually pretty interested in seeing the various side stories slowly weave together in this crazy, messed-up scenario of a deathless world. Like, there must be millions of people like Yuri clinging onto their loved ones who are already dead but don’t know it yet. It will be interesting to see how the shisha they meet on their travels are dealt with by the naive Ai and the cold-hearted Humpy and their wildly contrasting ideologies.

Humpnie actually has a pretty reasonable hypothesis on why God took away the concept of death and gave command over death to the Gravekeepers. Everything except for his idea why he’s immortal makes sense; I doubt that his immortality was caused just by a single prayer he had, especially since everyone pleads for God’s help every day – why would he alone get special treatment? I’m also waiting to see exactly what Humpnie has in store for Ai… there’s definitely a secret reason why he decided to let her travel with him, and it’s most likely something beyond just using her gravekeeper powers to bury the dead that they come across. Also, there’s fucking zombies… *sigh* of course there is. But it’s nice to see that it’s a gradual process over a decently long time and dead people aren’t instantly zombied up. It will certainly be pretty sad to see stories of people that are half or maybe even 80% lost and how their loved ones deal with it.

As for Ai, the secret to her birth better not be the second coming of Christ, or something cliche like that. Her cute as fuck straw hat better be a huge part of the plot, though. Kidding, but seriously I love that hat.

AND OHHH MAN… Noto-sama as Scar?! Yes. Yes. So devilishly sweet, I can’t even… Yes.
