Inu to Hasami wa Tsukaiyou – 01

Thoughts:

Although this first episode was relatively laid back, looking at the craziness of the OP animation makes me hope that GONZO somehow still has the ability to recreate the beautiful, wacky comedy that they once attained with Seto no Hanayome. That show is still one of my favorite comedies of all time and I still go back to watch various episodes now and then as a pick-me-up. However, the animation studio found itself in financial trouble after posting a $30 million deficit in 2008; it has since come back from the depths and hopefully does well.

As for Inuhasa (lol @ google for trying to correct me to Inuyasha), it has potential. With Marina Inoue as the sadist female lead, it already has a lot of things going for it, lol. As for the premise, it’s pretty ridiculous… MC gets killed trying to protect a girl and regrets not being able to read more books in his short life, especially since his favorite series was never finished, and comes back to life in the body of a dog. Although he’s a dog, he can communicate with the girl he saved through telepathy (or something) and it turns out the girl he saved was his favorite author. It’s just so weird that it just might work. This first episode was pretty random, going through Kirihime’s various daily routines and seeing where she gets her inspiration and knowledge for writing. I haven’t read any of the original novel so I’m excited to see where the story goes from here. There’s pretty much no way he can get his body back since his face got shotgunned and I doubt that his dog life will be in any extended period of time since, y’know, he’s a dog living with a sadist author.
