Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo – 07
What the hell did I just watch? In the span of one episode, Sakurasou went from drama/slice of life to straight up harem romance. Now I’m not saying this is always a bad thing, and I love me some harem romance. But, it seemed like Sakurasou made a concerted effort to make this episode as cringe worthy as possible. It may have been the abrupt switch in the overall “feel” of the show that threw me off. But more likely, it was Sorata’s overzealous, onii-chan loving sister, Yuko who was responsible. She single-handedly decimated this episode by turning it into an awkward free-for-all for Sorata’s affection.
But even with all its faults, this episode had some redeeming moments. Mashiro was especially hilarious, with some great one-liners that completely floored the unsuspecting Yuko. Not to mention, her christening of Sorata’s sister as the “Dwarf”. Watching Misaki’s quest to satisfy her need for speed was also pretty entertaining.
I really hope this episode isn’t a sign of things to come. But at least the next couple of weeks should be interesting with the results of Sorata’s game idea coming in.
