Sakamoto Maaya. I’ve never heard of her name before until I wikipedia’d her. Wow. She’s been in the anime business for quite some time, and she has made a number of albums and singles. She was also the voice actor for Fujioka Haruhi in the Ouran Host Club anime. She has also paired up with the legendary Yoko Kanno various times, and this time around, in the new Macross anime, she does a great job.

The Macross OP single, “Triangular,” was released recently and is really good. Triangular is a great song, and its guaranteed to be good: it was composed by Yoko Kanno. The lyrics were created by Gabriella Robin… who is an unknown entity who makes lyrics for some of Yoko Kanno’s songs. But, I’m pretty sure that it’s simply a pseudonym which Yoko Kanno uses.

The other song included in the album, entitled “Koto Michi” is also really good. It has a smooth and relaxed feel to it and I’ve enjoyed it for the… 5 times it’s been played, according to iTunes. It’s probably one of the few songs that won’t distract me while I do calculus homework.
