Exactly what I was thinking dazy, at first I thought that the point of change between the real world history and that of Code Geass was that the British won the American War of Independence, and went on to dominate the world even more so than the British Empire.

However, in one of the DVD releases, they had a short series of “Britannian History lessons” where one of them mentions that the “start” of the Britannian Empire lies with when a Celtic king repulsed attempts by the Roman Empire to invade the British Isles. Either way, the British Isles should be the “Homeland” they’ve been talking about, I mean the Flag is effectively a “Union Jack version” of England’s flag (the St George’s cross) whilst the coat of arms bears a lion and snake, the former which is also on the British coat of arms.

ahh. i stopped watching those short dvd stories after the second one featuring the female student council members in the bath. I guess I should have kept watching.

Also, regarding the Britannia flag, I never would have known about the British coat of arms. thanks for enlightening me.

    * In ATB 1770s, the American Revolution (known as Washington Rebellion) took place. The Duke of Britannia at the time bribes Benjamin Franklin with promises of titles and territories in the colonies, who was charged with appealing to Louis XVI of France’s assistance in the colonies’ war for independence. Thereafter, Benjamin Franklin seems to have become an earl. As a result, the Continental Army suffers a decisive defeat during the Siege of Yorktown, George Washington dies.

    * Towards the end of the 18th century, the Western world enters the Age of Revolution, with numerous people’s revolutions take place – save for Britannia, which under Henry X held to absolute monarchy. After the French revolutions Napoleon emerges. He wins the Battle of Trafalgar and occupies London. In 1807, Queen Elizabeth III is chased to Edinburgh, where a popular revolutionary militias arrests her and forces her to abdicate and end the monarchy, an event known as The Shame of Edinburgh. However, The Duke of Britannia (in America) Ricardo Von Britannia and his friend and subordinate Knight of One, Sir Richard Hector, bring Elizabeth III and her followers to the new world and establish a capital on the east coast of the new continent.

Taking back the home land should be the first priority!
