Definitely the most painful scene to watch so far. Seeing the always strong-spirited Kyou break down like that in front of everyone was just… painful. I can’t find any other words at the moment to describe it. This episode was good, but last episode owned. Owned even harder than an Inazuma Kick.

So I guess we can safely say that everyone now knows that Okazaki cares for Nagisa the most (maybe not Kotomi-chan, but she’s a special case). With that, how can Clannad even be called a Harem anime anymore. Also with Nagisa getting sick and getting hit with tennis balls every episode, how can we even call this anime a comedy? Seriously. After this episode I have no strong inclination of watching Clannad anymore. I still agree that Clannad is a wonderful show and KyoAni still could pull epic shit in it, but Clannad now is dull compared to before. Fuko’s appearances got old also (sorry Nonaka Ai).

Back to everyone’s favorite: Kyou. I assume KyoAni will make Kyou the same as Kanon’s Nayuki. If everyone remembers, Nayuki, who is a major character in the visual novel and anime, had about a one episode arc which was disappointing to many of her fans. But then when you think about it, this time around, there’s Kyou and Tomoyo who were neglected full arcs (like Kotomi and Fuko). I am very saddened by the briefness of Tomoyo’s arc. I assume it started when she began to go to his house, and I suppose it’s now over regarding how she reacted when she saw Okazaki and Nagisa together. There was only one really short fight scene with Tomoyo… I expected a really sweet one during the early episodes (HIT COUNT: 623), but I guess it’s just a dream now.

Speaking of Tomoyo, there was a manga I read that continued the Tomoyo arc to after Okazaki graduates and etc. Don’t read it unless you want to have wtfbbq all over your face, because shit hits the fan. I might post my expanded thoughts on it later.

Back to the anime: I think we can attribute Kyou’s short arc to Ryou, who may seem a sensitive little imouto, but she’s actually a horrible screen-hogger. I didn’t want to be mad at her, but if it wasn’t for her, then perhaps Kyou would instigate even more epic stuff happen (like locked in the shed x30)… (no no then Clannad would turn into a hentai)… (we can’t have that)… (right?).
