Summary:
A storm rolls in and it begins to rain. Lawrence and Horo take shelter at a church along the roadside. There they meet a man by the name of Zeiren who says that he heard a rumor that the silver coin currently in circulation is going to be replaced with another one with a higher silver content in it. Lawrence is intrigued by the rumor and is eager to make a profit. However, he consults with Horo and asks her if Zeiren was lying. Horo says that she thinks he is, but the question is why is he lying.

Summary:
Horo gets excited as they enter the city. They pass by an apple stand and Lawerence gives Horo a silver coin to go an buy some. Horo comes back with an excessive amount of apples and Lawerence questions if she knows the meaning of restraint. Lawerence meets a trader to sell the furs that have been in his wagon. Lawerence is able to bargain up to one hundred and fourty silver coins. But Horo intervenes and is able to sell the fur to the man for two hundered and ten coins. She reveals to Lawrence that the apples she bought were used to give the scent of fruit to the furs so that they would be able to be sold at a higher price. Lawerence later meets with Zeiren and decides to trust him that the currency will indeed be reissued with a higher silver content. Lawerence meets his friend who works as a money changer. Horo is able to compare the sound of the new and old coins and determines that the silver content has gone down, contrary to what Zeiren had said.

Thoughts:
Im enjoying the story thus far. The only qualms I have at the moment are the somewhat slow pace of the show and the inconsistency of the animation quality. There is a very distinct difference between the character designs of the second and third episode. Hopefully it’s just a temporary lapse and I pray that it will return to normal in the next episode.

Animation quality has certainly dropped from the second to third episode. :(
