Thoughts:
So, yeah, pretty much. Really nice backgrounds and visual scenes… but that’s to be expceted because its KyoAni. Well, I could talk about how awesome it is. And I do think this show is going to kick a lot of ass. But, well. Everyone else is gonna be saying that… so, I’ll just do whatev and own it up with some pictures and comments on them.

Sunohara Youhei. He’s pretty much Kitagawa Jun (Kanon) version 2. Well, they look exactly the same and pretty much have the same role… just the wingman for the main guy to own it up with the hot girls. Awesome loling at how he gets owned hard by the rugby team and Tomoyo (epic fighter girl). Also, I like that drink he’s holding: what! Air reference?! Lol, they referenced that drink in Kanon’s first episode too. I totally remember. It was on a truck that drove by in the first episode. sigh. Air is still the saddest story ever. GAH!!

Sagara Misae is the dorm manager of the dorms where Tomoya and Youhei live. She’s pretty cool, I think. Her last name is Sagara. What?! Sagara Sousuke?! lol. Well they sort of have similar outbursts of violence to help people in need… I guess.

WAIT… what? KAGAMI?! Is this Lucky Star season 2?

WA WA WA WASUREMONO… ORE NO WASUREMONO… (everyone knew this was coming)
So yeah, I think this is a great start to Clannad. It seems exactly like Kanon with the quick exposures to many characters with no real introduction. They’ll probably do the same thing with the different arcs to go more in detail of individual characters. Actually maybe not. But whatev. KyoAni is great at any anime they make. The protagonist seems quite the nonchalant fellow. Its sad that he has that family problem with his drunkard dad, and deceased mom. The girls that go to his school should be able to cheer him up though. Especially that Kagami version 2. And Tsukasa version 2 who tells the future with cards. I’ve never played the visual novel, so I can’t really say much more about Clannad compared to the game. Good thing I have a half a year to understand the story.

exo’s Thoughts:
Now THIS is what I’ve been waiting for. None of this Lucky Star. This first episode of Clannad is a perfect demonstration of Kyo Ani’s talent at crafting a original characters with unique personalities and being able to execute the story perfectly. The first episode had a lot of things going for it: The beginnings of friendship between Tomoya and Nagisa, super moe girls, awesome action scenes, humor and the introduction of the conflict between Tomoya and his father. Clannad had a very very strong start (the OP and ED was amazing). I’m glad that Kyo Ani is back doing what they are good at doing. :D

i love the ED.
hey lucky star was a nice diversion, in fact i appreciated how niche it was.
but, i must say, i love key-kyoani more.
i wish kyoani would make more projects, but if it means a decrease in quality, NO.
clannad can’t and won’t fail in the skillful hands of kyo-ani.
cheers to the first eps.
Finally!!
Like the OP and the ED.
BGM I sorta don’t like… sometimes… maybe…
Tomoyo so far is my favorite (duh…)
Nagisa father, (Akio?) character kicks ass though LoL.
Daiuchuu Ginga FTW!
Is the visual novel OP music the same as the anime?
Actually if you check out Sagara Misae upfront and put a mole on her cheek then she would be like Konata hehe…
@konosora: lawl.
@Xellos: Nagisa no otousan is hilarious.
@arigatz: Wow. thats a very close resemblance, now that you bring it up.
best ending ever.
Actually the sei-yuu (character voice) of sagara misae and sagara sousuke’s girl-friend, chidori, is the same person
=_= cool
