Summary:.
The Choujinga Gurren Lagann escapes from the trap thanks to the sacrifice of Kittan, and they proceed to kick some Anti-Spiral ass. After defeating the 3 larger Anti-Spiral battleships, the Anti-Spiral leader (or maybe just one of the leaders) arrives, and tells them of the great disaster that will come: the Spiral Nemesis. He then puts the crew into a dream-like state where they experience and see only peaceful and fun images:
- Simon goes into a world where he and Kamina are partners in crime
- Yoko is a crime fighting heroine
- and etc…

Well, Boota and Lord Gerome are the only ones ignored, and they meet with the Anti-Spiral leader who teleports to their ship. Boota transforms into a human (sorta) because of the Spiral energy of Lord Gerome and other circumstances with Spiral Energy (lol, I should grab subs). But, after a small resistance, they too are put under the dream spell. Simon’s dream ends with them being caught by the police at the area where he first meets Nia. As Kamina begs to the police, Simon watches in awe as his role model has been reduced to a loser. From behind, a more real version of Kamina appears in his true style (cape, sword, awesome), and reminds Simon of his true drill and spirit. Simon confidently punches the fake Kamina and Simon is transformed into his Gurren Brigade clothing. Kamina, and the rest of the deceased Gurren Brigade say goodbye to Simon, but Simon says that it’s not goodbye since they will always be together. Simon transforms into the Gurren Lagann and blasts into the sky. Yoko and the other members in the dream see the Gurren Lagann in the sky, and fly off with Simon. Meanwhile, Nia is being tortured or downloaded or something… well, she’s getting owned. But she holds her hand out, and from her ring, the Gurren Lagann appears. Simon comes out form the cockpit, ready to save Nia.

Thoughts:
Well, what should I say. Gurren Lagann gets better every week. Episode 25 was kind of average except for that ending. Kittan’s death was pretty ridiculously awesome. But really, it does get better every week. This is a summer anime, right? Well, now I can safely say that it was the best anime for the summer. I’ll expand more on this after GL ends, because who knows? Maybe the ending to GL is so crappy that it makes this show worthless (lol, it won’t). I need a Kamina cape or Simon cape NAO.

Anyway, this episode. Awesome. It had everything that makes this show an awesome anime: action, storyline, Kamina, etc. I agree with some other people that said that they cried at the end dream scene. My eyes were watering when Kamina was talking to grown up Simon. I was just like “Oh, shit. Nice Gainax.” Yoko’s dream was pretty moving too, but no where near as awesome as Simon’s. It was sad to see Yoko still troubled over Kamina’s death, but seeing that volcano background was quite nostalgic. I miss those days of summer. AAH ORE NO SEISHUN!!! lol.

That Anti-Spiral or whoever guy is pretty awesome. The way he is portrayed as just a black entity with a rough line sketch is quite a cool image. He really stands out that way.

Although that one scene with him and Nia screamed tentecle rape, the background was fucking cool. I hope no hentai doujinshi spawn from that. I also hope no yaoi doujinshi spawn from that Simon/Kamina dream scene.

The quality seemed up this episode. What?? It’s ending? I thought there were still 9000 more episodes!! lol. This is one show that I would love to see a season 2, but there definitely won’t be one.

Simon is pretty damn cool now. O wait, those glasses still look kinda dum.
