Episode 22

HE BROKE THROUGH HEAVEN!!!

Summary: Epic fight.
Thoughts: This was an epic fight. I thought that this episode was gonna be the most epic episode evar. But then I saw episode 23… and yeah. I was wrong.

Episode 23

Short Summary, since everyone knows what happened anyway and im like what… 3 days late?
The Gurren Brigade acquires the Cathedral Terra. It somehow has warp power, and can instantly transport Spiral beings anywhere, if they wish for it enough (lol, FLCL? yes, I know all of you we’re thinking that). This is demonstrated when the Gurren Lagann is teleported to Rossiu’s hometown to stop him from suicide. Also, the Brigade boards the Cathedral Terra to travel to the Anti-Spiral home planet to grab Nia and stop the Anti-Spirals from destroying the human race.

Thoughts:
Hells yeah, I know everyone was thinking of FLCL when I saw that instant transportation thing. Zomg, Atomsk was actually a spiral being that utilized Rasen energy. Hah, FLCL makes more sense now. Well, I’ve seen it like 90 times anyway… I love that show. The Pillows own.

Anyway, This Episode Was Ridiculously and Absolutely Freaking Great. The worst part was probably Rossiu talking with the elder guy from his village, but that was still fun to watch. It was nice seeing that old man still alive. Best part was obviously the ending. Space made Simon 10000 times more GAR than evar before. Well, maybe it’s all his cape. Srsly, I need one of those. Excellent cosplay idea right there. Actually, Kamina’s shades are still the fuckin coolest thing ever.

Speaking of Kamina, I was emotionally tingled when they showed Kamina’s grave while Simon blasted off to space with the Gurren Brigade flag. He broke through heaven!! gah, I’ve burned that epic picture into my mind. Epic. Simply and utterly epic.

Also, when Simon punched Rossiu, that was pretty awesome. It was pretty goddamn cool how Simon flew out of the Lagann to hit Rossiu. That’s probably the only thing Simon did that surpassed Kamina in my mind. Although… Simon’s cape is fucking nice too.

Well Simon still has more leveling up to do. Back in the first episode, Simon has clinging chain sounds when he walks and has an even deeper voice. So, I’m guessing that Simon has quite a while before finding Nia. Especially because I’ve never seen that guy in the first episode yet. An Anti-Spiral that supports the humans? Maybe.
