Episode 19

MERMAID HAS THE SAME PRONUNCIATION AS CHIVALRY! RAWR~

Summary:
Shiranui is given orders from her superior to break up the relationship between San and Nagasumi. In order to achieve this goal she is given a special mermaid beverage to use on them in order to reveal to San the true nature of Nagasumi and humans in general.

Shiranui calls for the aid of the three fish brothers and Kai to help in her plan. They serve Nagasumi and his buddies the special drink, but Nagasumi is wary after things went horribly wrong the last time he drank something made by mermaids and decides to secretly pass on it. The drink starts to take effect on everyone and Shiranui thinks everything is going accordingly to plan. However, she accidentally drinks it along with the three fish brothers.

Meanwhile Nagasumi is resting in another room with Kai, when Shiranui bursts in, sword in hand and commands Nagasumi to “be kind” to her. He is launched out of the house and is pursued by Shiranui. However, he quickly runs into Luna who punishes him for declaring his love to a woman. (Mawari, but its a misunderstanding on Luna’s part) Mawari then comes in and fires cats at both of them. Nagasumi is then chased onto a bridge where he is trapped between everyone. But, Saru comes in and hangs onto Shiranui, giving Nagasumi time to escape. However, everyone quickly catches up to him, but San appears at the last moment and saves Nagasumi by using her mermaid voice.

Shiranui meets back up with her superior and tells him that even under the effects of the drink, San’s strongest desire was to protect Nagasumi revealing how hard it would really be to break the two apart. Shiranui is forgiven for her mistake today but is still tasked with the duty of breaking the two apart. Meanwhile, San calls Nagasumi outside and says that they did not spend much time together during the trip and that she wanted to see the full moon with him. Nagasumi smiles and takes hold of San’s hand.

Episode 20

What’s this on my head?

M..m..mo.mo…MOEEEE!

Summary:
Luna is depressed because she wasn’t able to go on the school trip due to her work. Her father is on vacation and happens to see how sad Luna is. He talks with Nagasumi and tells him that he has given her everything that she would ever want. Nagasumi replies by saying that the thing she wants is not material and urges Luna’s father to go in and comfort her. However, he ends up failing miserably. A late night google search results in Luna’s father buying an eroge game titled “After School Love Hearts” in order to “better understand” the feelings of his daughter.

The next day he shows up at school wearing a sailor uniform. O.o And everyone is appalled by this horrid sight that no one in the world deserves to see. Gozaburo comes into the classroom and is also shocked by Luna’s father’s appearance. However, after a 1 on 1 talk he is talked into playing the eroge game for the sake of his daughter, and so Masa, Shark and Gozaburo set off on a mission to memorize every line within the game.

Nagasumi is woken up in the morning by Masa, except that he lost all of his GAR-ness, much to Nagasumi’s dismay. San does not want to go to school knowing that her father is there dressed in a rediculous outfit. But Luna drags her there so that San can experience the same pain that she felt.

At school, Luna and San retreat to the rooftop to avoid further embarrassment when suddenly their fathers come up to talk to them. After a long discussion, things are finally set straight by San’s mother and all is right in the world. However, Gozaburo puts his Nekomimi on San’s head creating a dangerously moe San. Later, Nagasumi comments on how cute San looked with those on. She promptly smacks him in the face with her bag and runs away. But Luna reveals that San likes the Nekomimi a lot. Later that night, Nagasumi peeks into San’s room and sees her making a number of moe inducing poses in front of the mirror while wearing her nekomimi. :O HAWTNESS~

Thoughts:
Episode 19 had a lot of development. The conflict between Shiranui and San/Nagasumi’s relationship was introduced (but was shelved during episode 20) and should come into play in the near future. Also I guess holding hands was another step forward in their relationship. Episode 20 was filled with fan service. WOW… Who knew that San + Nekomimi = Dangerous explosion? I am definitely looking forward to moar of that awesomeness. This show is still going strong and hasn’t disappointed me thus far. Looking forward to the next episodes of epicness.
