So, this episode introduces Cytomander. At first I thought he was a butterfly, but then exo said he was a peacock… lol. And his fortress Gunman is called Daiganten. Which is pretty unoriginal.
Daiganzan = earth because zan is earth (I think but I currently can’t find the kanji).
Daigankai = water because kai is ocean (海).
Daiganten = sky because ten is heaven (天).
What else happened this past episode… oh, Yoko. Yes, even though she’s sekushii beyond comparison, her role is getting smaller every episode. Unless Rossiu gives up his position in the Gurren to Yoko. But then this episode, it showed that Simon can pilot Gurren Lagann without anyone’s help. Hahaha Rossiu looked funny when he was sick.
And well, I guess now we know how the Daiganzan got into space. But I don’t understand how a soccer ball looking object allows a Gunman to fly. That was pretty unimaginable when the Daiganzan jumped into the air and kicked the Daiganten. lol.
And I guess Viral will see what humans really are. That entire part after the Spiral King reveals how he creates Beastmen…dude I was thinking, “He’s a furry. Oh, shit.” Lol at Nyoron’s subs in the first several episodes where they translate Kamina’s yelling as “furry bastards.”
So, this past episode was pretty good. At first I wasn’t even paying attention to Gurren Lagann because Lucky Star this past week was too good. The end of the fight scene with the sunset + Simon and Yoko was pretty nice and well drawn. Simon is drawn better every episode. Except for when he was emo. That was just like… psh.
Yoko is still probably my favorite character (besides Kamina) and she’s still full of fun as seen in the swimsuit episode. And her voice actor is doing a really awesome job.
