Summary:
To reach the Spiral King’s capital, the Dai Gurren Brigade continue to push onward in their Daiganzan (aka Dai-Gurren but i think Daiganzan sounds cooler). However, they reach a giant inland sea that blocks their path, and the Daiganzan is not made to travel over water. To change the Daiganzan’s capability, Leeron needs to make minor adjustments, and it will take some time. And that means some beach action for the rest of the crew. At the beach, everyone is going crazy seeing Nia in a one piece bathing suit, while Yoko is getting mad because Nia is beating her in every beach activity (Yoko always wears skimpy clothes so the guys are dissapointed).

Well, Leeron gives the Daiganzan fins and a paddle and so the crew sets sail to the capital. However, Adiane is waiting for them underwater with her Daigankai (which is sort of like the Daiganzan but travels in water rather than on land). With the water advantage, the Daigankai owns the Daiganzan with its’ torpedo dolphins and the Gurren crew can’t do anything because their Gunmen aren’t able to function in water. However, Simon and Rossiu take the Gurren Lagann, and it somehow works underwater because of the regeneration powers of the Lagann. Adiane takes her Custom Gunman Sayrune out to fight the Gurren Lagann while Viral stays behind to control the Daigankai. The Daigankai grabs ahold of the Daiganzan and takes it underwater. Water begins to flood the Daiganzan and everyone panics except for Nia, who has absolute trust in Simon. Sayrune is owning Gurren until Simon creates a drill that pops out of Lagann’s head and as it spins, it displaces water (sort of like an Archimedes screw). Gurren Lagann is then able to go really fast underwater, and it pushes the Daiganzan up, above water, and saving the Gurren Brigade. Sayrune jumps on top the Daiganzan and takes Nia hostage, and Adiane tells the humans to point their guns at the Gurren Lagann. Yoko however points her gun at Nia. And Adiane gets all hot and turned on when she realizes that Yoko will kill Nia for her. However, Yoko misses Nia on purpose and hits Sayrune in the shoulder, causing it to drop Nia. Nia is saved by the old man who appears out of nowhere (he saves Nia twice in 2 episodes). The Daiganzan focuses all of its guns on to the Sayrune and shoots, causing a huge cross explosion. Viral, inside the Daigankai, tries to save Adiane, but Gurren Lagann destroys the Daigankai in a single attack. So, there’s 2 giant explosions, and they cause a giant tidal wave, that sends the Daiganzan all the way to the other side of the sea. And because Nia’s hair got all owned from Yoko’s shooting, she got a haircut from Yoko showing the new bond of friendship that they have. Too bad her new haricut is pretty junk… Fact: Yoko can’t be a barber.

Thoughts:
Well, at least Simon isn’t emo ever anymore. He handled the situation with the Sayrune pretty good and pwned the Daigankai in one drill attack that looked exactly like how War-Greymon killed Metal Seadramon in the first Digimon season. Anyway, I thought that the Daigankai would be stronger. In one of the radar screens inside the Daiganzan, it showed the Daigankai to be longer and bigger than the Daiganzan. But, whatev, the first half of the episode was all beach goodness. lol. Well played, Gainax, well played. The face Yoko made when she dropped the crab was pretty wow. Made me feel sorry for Yoko because she is being replaced by a loli (which is not bad at all if you love Kodomo no Jikan).

So, is it just me or does that one guy in the Gurren brigade have the best shoop da whoop face ever?

So, next episode will introduce the last of the 4 generals. It seems he has a flying battleship and he is a butterfly or something… so next episode will have a battle in the sky outside the Spiral King’s capital. Maybe Viral will be someone else’s subordinate now… since he lost 2 already.
