Haha wow… Konata giving Kagami a 団長 arm band was pretty lol. Also when she turned on the TV to watch Haruhi. They’ve been having a lot of Haruhi references lately. Also the FMP Fumoffu mascot character has been popping up a lot. Which brings us to the next topic concerning Lucky Star. Kyo Ani’s “so called” decision to switch directors from Yamamoto Hiroshi to Yasuhiro Takemoto. Takemoto directed FMP Fumoffu and that was an extremely funny anime. Perhaps the higher ups weren’t satisfied with how Lucky Star was going. I think the major turn offs to most people is the lack of a linear storyline (or a storyline whatsoever) and the amount of dialog that goes on within each episode, with little action or exciting visual sequences. The OP for the show sets everyone’s bars high expecting Lucky Star to be like that, and they suddenly become disappointed when they find out that the real show consists of girls talking to each other about pastries for 10 minutes. More excitement or not I still enjoy Lucky Star, however, Lucky Star is not directed at the general audience, but to a more niche one. Perhaps this is why Kyo Ani wants to take Lucky Star in a new direction.
