Summary:
Nagasumi’s grandmother tells him that he should take San out on a date and gives him 50,000¥ to spend at the local bon dance festival. He begins to take San around the festival and they stop at many different booths to buy things (cotton candy, chocolate bananas, candy apples). However, while San gets oversized たべもの Nagasumi gets basically nothing. This is when he realizes that the whole festival is run by San’s father and that he is trying to sabotage their date. They then go to play Kingyo Sukui and San proves to be an expert at it as she claimed earlier. However, Nagasumi is taken to a different Kingyo Sukui booth with a shark in it. The shark attacks him but he grabs its teeth and flips it over. During the battle, water splashes on San and she grows her mermaid tail. Nagasumi quickly picks her up and takes her to a place with less people so that he can dry her legs off so that they turn back to normal. However, San’s father and mother pass by and Gouzaburou thinks that they are doing something else and breaks out his sword but is held back by Masa who realizes what Nagasumi is doing.

San is determined to make Nagasumi enjoy their first date together and takes him back to the festival. However, San continues to find ways of getting wet and Nagasumi has to end up saving her every time. A booth selling glass sculptures and jewelry catches Nagasumi’s eye and they stop there. He tells her to choose something as a present from him to her. San picks out a ring and Nagasumi tells her that she could choose something much better (the ring is the cheapest thing at the store) but she says that she likes it a lot. (sounds like Kanon?) They then proceed to the bon dance. However, Nagasumi doesn’t know how to dance and sits in the crowd while San dances. Masa comes over and offers to teach him how to dance, but San sees this and says that Nagasumi’s true feelings are towards the person who took his first kiss (Masa) and runs away. Nagasumi catches up with her corrects her misunderstanding. San suddenly notices that her ring is gone but Nagasumi is not worried and says that it was cheap. However, San insists on looking for it saying that it is a very precious possession to her and so they begin to search. San’s mother shows up with ring in hand says that Gouzaburou found it. But when Nagasumi thanks him and calls him お父さん he gets angry and throws the ring into the air, landing on Masa’s finger. San gets angry and blasts Nagasumi with a powerful stream of water and hilarity ensues.

Thoughts:
OMG the first kiss thing makes me laugh so hard every time i see it. Its even more funny that San got angry over it, twice. The humor shows no signs of slowing down and the characters are pretty interesting. This EP reveals different sides to characters for example: how Nagasumi isn’t helpless (he owns the shark) and that Gouzaburou has a kind side behind all that anger. EP 3 plz.
