Summary:
Hayate Ayasaki awakes to find himself dead in heaven, or so he thought. Hayate was knocked out during the last scene in the previous episode and was brought to the Sanzenin household. He assumed he was dead after seeing a dream about Santa talking about his bad deeds in life and when he woke up in the unbelievably nice house, he assumed it was heaven. He goes to take a bath and, like any other anime, he walks in with a girl already there. The girl is Maria, Nagi’s maid, but, unlike any other anime, Hayate doesn’t have a nosebleed (SUGOI!). However, his wounds from the previous night open up and Hayate faints. Maria takes Hayate-kun back to bed and he wakes up still feeling guilty about trying to kidnap Nagi. He tries to explain his actions to Maria, who didn’t know about his loli fantasies and shana fetish kidnapping scheme. Nagi enters, interrupting Hayate’s confession, and offers him a butler job. Hayate gladly accepts, knowing that the job will help him pay off his huge debt to the yakuza. Maria goes to Klaus, the butler in charge, to talk about giving Hayate the job. Klaus denies the job approval and tells Maria to kick him out. Maria, being the kind person that she is, just can’t do it after seeing Hayate do such a good job and how happy he is to have a job again. In Nagi’s study room, Hayate finds a notebook with her manga drawn inside. He mistakenly thinks it is a picture diary (enikki : えにっき : 絵日記) and when Nagi sees that he is looking at it, she is furious. She kicks him out of her room and tells him to leave. So, Hayate leaves the Sanzenin household. Right outside, unfortunately, the same Yakuza guys who attacked his house kidnap Hayate. Maria just so happens to walk by and tells Nagi about what happened. Nagi was surprised that he left when she only meant for him to get out of her room (omg..these misunderstandings are almost like School Rumble). Hayate is being held captive at the docks and Hayate has thoughts that reference Black Lagoon along with One Piece and some other anime. Luckily, Nagi, dressed as Mask the Money saves Hayate by paying the Yakuza members his debt. Hayate is very grateful and promises to pay Nagi back one day.
Thoughts:
Hah hah ha…wow..Black Lagoon reference for the win. I never thought I would get to see Hayate in Revy pants in my lifetime…well maybe in a doujin. Yes, yes, there was a One Piece reference too…but everyone knows that Black Lagoon > One Piece any day for a pirate anime. And don’t even joke about a Pirates of the Caribbean anime…that would be ftl.
Nagi is otaku..lol. That’s hawt. In other news, it seems that Nagi is always in absolute territory. I think the only people able to compete with her amounts of absolute territory are Tohsaka Rin and those girls from Lucky Star. Anywho, the intro song for Hayate no Gotoku, sung by the great KOTOKO, gets better the more times you listen to it. I am starting to like it now. The Hayate no Gotoku anime is getting a good start and I only can expect it to get better as more characters are introduced.
To end this post, I would like to introduce my brand new line of credit cards called, Hayatecard. They are used in many stores across the universe and can also be used as a floatation device. Please don’t mistake this with Mastercard, as they do not operate in space. You can use Hayatecard in almost anywhere in the universe and it is even used by Nagato Yuki to buy her books and hacks.
So I herd you liek absolute territory.
